So I figured I would start a build thread for this tank build. To start off this is not my first reef but I want to keep it simple. I had an issue with my 70 sump leaked and stand had structure damage so fish and coral moved to a 40 till this tank is set up. This is the list of what I have in the 40 waiting to be moved to there new home.
FISH: Kole tang, Yellow tang, Clownfish and Banggai cardinalfish.
CORAL: Pallys, Gorgonia, Todestool leather and 9 Rockflowers.
ROCK: All rock has been in my tanks for over 5 years.

With all this said I will get into the goals of this tank.
ONE: All equipment is in the main display no sump for this tank. So getting a clean look will be more difficult but I believe it can be done.
TWO: Reuse as much equipment as possible from other tank builds to keep costs down to a reasonable level. (Not sure this can happen)
THREE: Make a happy reef for the inhabitants and the family to enjoy. ( this is a 5 year tank as relocation will likely be needed after this point)

So now with the build the take is a Marineland 75 with the stand included. (Got for a good deal from petsmart)
Lights will be 1 AI Prime HD from old tank to highlight the rocks my rockflowers are on and the main light is an orphek Atlantik v4 compact that is currently over the 40. So lighting should not be a problem. For flow I purchased 2 Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6040 (53 - 1,190 GPH) with the goal of keeping all magnets on the back wall of the tank. I also have 2 Tunze Comline 9004 DC in tank skimmers that will be placed on the back wall of the tank to look like a overflow box.( fits with the goal of clean look and all equipment in the tank)
The tank will be moved to its home location this week and fill tested and leveled so I hope to have more updates soon.

That will work just fine !

I just upgraded my 75 gallons sumpless tank. I used a Tunze 9012 DC along with a Tunze internal filter and it worked fine.
I think it will keep a nice clean look to the tank.

Sorry for not updating sooner. Tank is set up and fish rocks and coral moved it to there new home. Was able to use a lot of equipment from other tanks that have gotten upgraded as planned so that's a good thing. One unfortunate thing is the noise from the 2 Tunze pumps. Was really disappointed for the first time with a Tunze product. They created a lot of vibration and noise that I have never experienced with a DC pump before. Was thinking maybe a defect but both pumps are doing the same thing. I will give them some break in time to see what happens before making my final decision on if I will keep them in the tank or not.

Things still to do:

I need to add the background and clean up wiring.

Adjust pump placement once background is on.

Add more fish and coral to tank.

I am possibly thinking on building a hood type setup to cover the lights and add more storage space.

So I have made a big upgrade to my tanks lighting. I did the Orphek atlantik upgrade to the icon internals. It went really well was not hard to do other then drilling the hole for the reset. The new app is so much better then the old v4 one. The light still looks the same but it gave me two more channels to adjust the lighting as well as new fans for the light. But the big part is not having to deal with the gateway and the old app.

Just realized I have not done an update for a good while. Here are some photos of the tank and its progress.

Looking great! I love the look of BB tanks! I would run BB if I wasn't planning on keeping wrasses.

Do you plan to swap out the AI for another Orphek fixture?
I may. The Orphek was over one of my old tanks and the prime was on my nano so I was just using leftovers to do this tank. It also is a good way to see the difference in the two styles of lights and the look of each. I ran a deep sand bed on a previous tank with a jawfish and it was very entertaining.
