Hi guys! Quick question, is anyone using the Neptune PMUP with the Apex ATK from the basement? How are you extending the wires to reach from the sump on the main level of your house to the RO/DI reservoir in the basement?

I am doing this, or trying to.

The PMUP can push water up to 14’ vertical. The orange RODI tubing that comes with the ATK is exactly 14’ long. So if you can reach from your sump to your container in the basement with the orange tubing, you should be within spec.

I then picked up a DC24 Neptune extension cable. I think the default cable on the PMUP is 6’? Don’t quote me on that. The extension cable is 10’. I think Neptune says to keep the cable to 20’ or less so you should be fine with a single 10 cable.

I then bought this cable as I am using a liquid level sensor and used the below cable as an extension cable.

In terms of actual running of the cables, I have a passage through my floor for Ethernet cables. I just added these cables to the run.

If your placement is beyond 14’, the ATK is not for you and not worth trying to engineer workaround solutions.

I have an unfinished basement. I drilled a 1 inch hole from the basement up into my wall to run hoses and cabling to the back of my tank sump area. I’ve been running my pmup from my basement RO/DI holding tank through the wall up to my tank sump for about two weeks now. It’s topping off my tank using the ATK float setup. Working great so far. I have the FMM at my mixing station in the basement so I only had to run the aqua bus and orange ATO tubing up through my wall.

FYI… If you’re extending the FMM sensor cables using a TRRS headphone extender, Neptune recommends not extending more than 6ft. More than 6ft can cause signal issues.

I found it much easier to just move the FMM downstairs. The wires from the optical sensors in the sump (which is under my stand and not in the basement) easily reach to the FMM. The PMUP is in the 20 gallon reservoir which is in the basement almost direction under the tank and I have it pumping up to the sump. Aquabus cable goes through the same hole as the wires and tubing and connects the FMM to the Apex. Works perfectly.

I bought a 75ft apex cable from usbfirmware and ran it from the opposite end of my house from the basement to my tank alongside the RODI and awc tubing. There's a link somewhere on this forum for the cable.
