I’m setting up a mixing station and auto water changer using an Apex. My containers are currently Brute 55 gal trash cans. I was hoping to use the LLS to monitor/automate the system. I’m having trouble figuring out how to mount the stick in the cans. I assume the top cannot be submerged? Has anyone found a good solution for this? How do you handle the lid?

Following. I also have 32 gallon Brute trashcan for ATO storage and would like to install LLS to keep track of water level. I was thinking something like magnetic attachment but open to some other ideas.

I don’t recall the thread but someone has made a magnet attachment for the LLS. Looked nice.

The top cannot be submerged. It’s water resistant but not water proof. There is a delay with the LLS so be careful if you want to try and use it for stopping and starting pumps or anything

Drill a Hole in the Lid of the Brute Container, with a hole saw. Get a Short Piece of Threaded Schedule 80 PVC Pipe. Cut two rings off of a Schedule 40 thread X thread coupling. Lock the PVC Pipe onto the Lid with the threaded rings. Drop the probe, through the lid into the pipe, “Retainer.” This way you won’t drop the probe into the water. Also it will be easy to remove and clean.

I use LLS on a brute I simply did a cutout for the size of the lls and slides right in the clip holds it in place without issues.

Sweet. Easy enough. Thank you. I assume you use this only on RODI or is for salt too? Worried about evaporation
This one is the salt, I am not too worried as I do AWC and go through it once a week, but I cover it up to ensure no bugs or other crap gets in the water. I have one in the RODI as well but its not a brute can.

It is easy to drill holes in the lid using a step drill bit. I don't use the LLS or have a Apex but below is some photos of one of the lids on mine with the holes drilled. i have since added a level sensor but still use the float switches for low level and full level. This happens to be the one for DI and has two ATO pumps connected. The float valve is there just in case of a full float switch failure.
