In the process of setting up my new tank, a 35ish gallon display with a 9 gallon sump. I am doing automatic water changes of about .5 gallon per day which works out to about 30% water change per month. One of the first corals I added is this Sinularia, which seems reasonably happy. I plan to keep it towards the bottom of the tank. I hope to place it around 8 inches directly below the powerhead (Ecotech MP10) and I'm wondering what kinds of issue I'm going to run into as it grows up into the flow of the powerhead. Ultimately this will be a mixed reef with SPS towards the top, I understand the Sinularia throw off toxins into the water - is the AWC sufficient to keep those under control, or is carbon necessary? Any concerns about placing some Ricordea up and around the base of the Sinularia - perhaps touching the stem, but not the branches/polyps which would be well above the Ricordea.
