I had one zebra moray eel. I used 3” pvc just slipped together (no glue) and then covered it with emarco 400 and rocks.

I had an opening on either side and one in the middle. I used the sweeping elbows so that there wouldn’t be anything sharp inside.

That looks fantastic, blends in perfectly. Thanks for the idea. I'm gonna try it. The wife is getting 2 Golden Dwarf Eels. Max length is 10 - 12inches. So I'm thinking of using 2" pvc, with those sweeping elbow's. Thanks again. Your eel is awesome, I've watched the video like 5 times

2” should be a great size for the golden dwarf eel since they are so much smaller.

Every few months I’d take a power head and push water through the cave system to clean it out. There was never a lot in there but I did it for good measure.

He was my favorite fish.

I 2nd the 3" pvc pipe and rock. I got a 3 way 3"pvc Y and then used hydraulic cement to attach it to rock. The cement doesn't stick well to the pipe itself so you have to attach it to the rock and then go over the pipe with it. Worked like a charm and my eels and grouper love their caves.

I'm waiting to hear back about them right now. With Hawaii shut down it has slowed down my plans. Local lfs is Checking with some west coast suppliers to see if there are any available.

Hey guys. Wanted to say thanks for the advice and tips. I built the eel cave out of 2" pvc and drilled holes all over it for flow and circulation. Covered it in Aquaforrest concrete, opening the holes back up again of course. It is 2 levels with a middle pipe going up. Got it in the tank, finished cycling....and my wife decided she wanted a Zebra eel instead. So Marty the zebra eel has been in the tank for 4 days and is hiding in the rocks piled around the cave system built for him. He did come out and eat 2 pieces of shrimp on Tuesday evening though. Thanks again for the tips
