That is the route I started down, but the pots were creating dead spots in my flow. . . which I didn't like. I will have more placement options with a tile.Pretty much any ceramic tile will work. Personally I have used terra cotta flower pots with success, and prefer them over anything else.
Discus breeders will sometimes use a breeding cone. Which is pretty much what it sounds like...a tall skinny Terra cotta cone. Something like that might be a good option. But if not, any ceramic tile from the hardware store will work. That is the route I started down, but the pots were creating dead spots in my flow. . . which I didn't like. I used to love those cones in my cichlid days. No detritus build up and less egg fungus because water can move freely around them. I guess my question is how can I tell if it’s untreated? I have plenty of tile in my garage, just not sure what it’s made out of or if it’s glazed or treated etcThey also make them in tile shapes - but as above any untreated ceramic will work
