Good afternoon and TIA for any help that you can give. I have a torch coral that is not fully extending and today looks a little worse than the last couple days. I had recently put it in the tank over the weekend. I have other porch squirrels added at the same time that are doing fine and some hammers. The pictures are not great with the phone camera but I took a small little video to give you an idea of the flow and one picture of what it looks like. It is a little hard to see but it is the one in the very back. I just moved it today to where it's at. It was a little closer to the Rock and to one of the other torches. I would say it's in a lower flow right now. I can get more flow in the tank or I can move it on top of the rock work where it would have lots of flow if anyone thinks that is a good idea?

Thanks Jason PXL_20241024_160234977.MP.jpg

What is a porch squirrel? Or do you mean torch coral? (it did make me chuckle)

Great idea. More flow and more light. Do you know or can you find out about par measurement? Do you know your par?
Thanks Jason
You're welcome. :)

Lol, My talk to text is not very good. Yes it's supposed to say torch corals.

I do have a par meter but I have never opened it. I can try to get some readings but may have to wait until tomorrow.

I will try moving it

Moving it is going to make it more upset.
If others fine it’s not the spot.
I thought about that. I will say the others are getting a little bit more flow than this one is. I had moved it slightly earlier today and right now it seems out slightly more so I think he's just going to give it a couple days and see what happens.

Here is another video and pic under white light. It is the torch in the back right. Ignore the one in the front. It was out until I started messing with the lights to get a better picture. PXL_20241024_182031018.jpg

Great thinking! The longer mine stay untouched, the more they extend. Took months.

Has anyone successfully used the KFC dip or would it be just as good to just dose cipro in the tank? I plan on leaving it for a few days to see what happens. Reason why I asked about the antibiotics is this was part of a larger order and I lost a couple torches to what I think was brown jelly disease and I'm afraid that might be what's happening to this.

Is there any downside to dosing the antibiotics as of just in case?

Looks about the same today. When the other 2 were dying the ammonia spiked to .25, which from what I understand is ok for corals and there are no fish.
Ammonia is currently at 0 so hopefully that is a sign it is ok, just irritated?
