I have a new Anemone, H.mag for 5 days now. It is acting very weird. I try to feed it some time but it did not want the food (mysis, grated shrimp). The weird things is it only inflates at night, at around 9pm-4am, and close during the day. The nem seems very happy at night but not in the morning, even the light is not on in the morning. It mouth close tight at night but kind of swollen and open during day time. Any idea? A clownfish is hosting in it too. Its foot still attach to the rock, it grab the food to, but did not eat.
Tank is about 1 year old.
Water parameter is good, except nitrate is around 5ppm, trying to lower that.
Light I’m running a kessil A series
The nem is about 12 inches from the light.
Light schedule ramp up and down 2 hours each, and stay at 50color/50intensity for 4 hours.
Any suggetion?
Thank you

Pictures?

What are your water parameters? Including alkalinity.

If it doesn't have a feeding response, give it time, monitor its health before trying to feed it again.

Related, I hope you have cipro and a treatment tank on hand.

Your nitrates are perfect first off. Other than that can we get all of these numbers?
Temperature-
PH-
Ammonia-
Nitrite-
Nitrate-5
Phosphate-
Calcium-430
Alkalinity-8.4
Magnesium-

What kind of flow is in your tank?
It sounds like the Anemone is just getting settled in and will slowly start opening more in the day

I'm not sure where you are located, but try searching fish flox and see where you can purchase online w/out a script, there are places that will do that.
I'll see if I can find where I got it last time, it's been a while.
Rush order this stuff, time is a factor here.

I know I was able to pay for rush delivery back when, I think it was like $20 to get it a day or 2 later, check amazon too because they deliver on weekends and I'm pretty certain I've seen it on there.

Search for this, this is what I used last, and this pic was petmountain.com, but I can't recall if they were one that required a script or not, but I know I've seen this on amazon.
I know it's pricey for rush delivery....

I do 100% daily, but I use water from the main tank for the changes to the treatment tank and use the freshly mixed water to replace what I took out of the main. Make sure to keep the heater and powerhead separated from the anemone in the treatment tank, use a divider or eggcrate or cover the powerhead at minimum.
