I talked to the wife on the phone about my Purple Tang and Foxface eating the acans. She is totally bent out of shape and wants to keep the fish and says get rid of the acans.
Thats not such a good plan

BTW - What are the chances that they will just get a taste for something else once those are gone? I have NO algae at all. I don't even have to clean my glass hardly.
Any info might help me explain this to the wife, which I have already tried, but actual experiences might help.

Soooooo - my plan is to try and get a fish that she would love to ease the pain of these ones having to go (If she doesn't freak out too much - lol)

She's the fish person. So hopefully she isn't too attached to these ones.

Stocklist now is:

Hawaiian Flame Wrasses - 4
Lineatus Wrasses - 2
Mystery Wrasse
Cleaner Wrasse
Helfrichi
Yellow Rose Goby
Picasso Clown pair
Borbonius

I'd love to get an Achilles Tang but don't think a 125g is big enough.
It has to be something bigger than a Wrasse and will probably be the only bigger fish in the tank.

She doesn't like:
Black Tang
Any of the more common ones

Suggestions please!!! So I can at least have some ideas to help her get excited about a new fish.

Vlamingi Tang maybe, my wife loves ours. Its hardy, but on second thought I had to remove my duncans because it had a taste for them.

I'll try, but she wants some COLOR I'm sure. That is why she liked these guys.

A vlamingi in a 125g - never. I wouldn't have any sps from it knocking them all down while trying to make room to swim! Wayyyyyy too big for any less than 300g in my opinion.

Hopefully she might be into some other wrasses.
Maybe she'll go with a couple Labouti's or if I can find a NICE supermale pink margin - the white one.

I'm going to have to pull out all the stops today when she gets home from her business trip.

I found a WINNER!

I don't know why I didn't think of this sooner! We have been wanting to get one of these. As long as he doesn't get too big, I'll be fine.
Cleaner shrimp/wrasse have to go.

Dan @ GSA aquatics has one and we loved it! Its like a puppy dog in the fish tank!!!

She's talking about getting a 300g for the basement. A FOWLR tank for a crosshatch and stuff.
I'm glad she makes the money around here! She won't buy a think for the reef except fish. When it comes to fish, she pulls the stops out.

I just got off the phone with her and she said upgrade the QT tank till we I get the basement done.

So who knows!?!?!?

The cowfish can and will release toxins, but only if they are threatened really. They don't if they die.
They can wipe out a whole tank, but with proper care they are pretty good fish.
It is mitigated with carbon too.
So yeah, they can, and do, but it is not as often and scary as some may think.

Everything is up in the air now. So who knows where this will go.

I'm not 100% sure I want another tank to take care of. If I do, they will all be plumbed together and run off a fish room in the basement.
I don't think she is going to be down for the 5-10k its going to take, at a minimum.
