Need Help getting in Touch with Adam

Hey folks, I’ve been trying to get in touch with Adam in regards to an order that was to be refunded.

We were in communication via text 2 weeks ago. Since then I’ve sent a few follow up texts, an email and two voicemails. However, I haven’t heard back.

He may be on vacation or not available at the moment. I haven’t been active or on reef2reef for some time. So if anyone has some information regarding this or how to get in touch with him I’d greatly appreciate it.

Odds are he will respond on here. I know I was just in contact with him about a week ago. I’ll tag him here, @Battlecorals but usually pming him gets a pretty fast response.

Unfortunately, I’m taking a break from the hobby. I’m dealing with health concerns. I won’t be home for weeks at time for treatments. Also, I’m located 45 miles south of New Orleans. We took a direct hit from Hurricane Ida. Our home and property sustained substantial damage. So what little time and energy I have has been committed to that. Fun Times!

That’s strange, emailed him yesterday to ship a replacement order out and he quickly responded and just shipped tonight. I’m in Baton Rouge coincidentally

Well I don’t quite understand why I haven’t gotten a response back yet then. It’s been nearly 3 weeks and the amount of money isn’t a small amount.

Over the years I’ve received 4 or 5 Battle Boxes and was always happy with the quality of the coral and with his customer service. But this quite disappointing.

I’ve exhausted all forms of medium to contact him. I’m not really sure what else I can do at this point.

Thanks again for the time and help. I really hope to hear from him soon.

Thanks for the well wishes. Just had treatment in Memphis and got home Sunday. Thankful to be back. Some good news is the roofers finished putting up a new roof on the house and the garage yesterday. Thanks again Ida!

Hey Folks,

Just an update as I’ve been out of town for 4 days.

It’s now be a month since he responded to my text.

Again, I’ve emailed, sent texts, left voicemails, sent him a private message and started this thread in his own vendor forum.

I’m sure all would agree that I’ve been more than patient and I’m now getting quite worried at this point. This order was nearly $800. While the money is quite substantial, I’m just as upset at how this is being conducting. It’s very unprofessional.

He’s been on Reef2Reef quite often since this thread was started. Some of you kind people even tagged him. So I know he is aware of this thread. At most it would take all of 30 seconds for him to respond. I don’t think that’s asking too much. He’s even responded to other people’s emails etc.

And that is what’s so darn disappointing. I’ve been in business for over 20 years and this is NOT how it’s suppose to be conducted. There is truly no excuse for him to continue to avoid/ignore me, but finds the time to post and login here.

My wife is a lawyer and I truly don’t want for it to come to that, but what other options do I have left at this point? I’m open to any and all suggestions.


Thanks again for everyone that’s replied and offered help and information. It means a lot. It’s one of the best things about the aquarium hobby. I ask again for any other suggestions before I consider my other options.

My new 8 footer is finally sps ready and i was just about to put in a substantial order with Battle Corals but after seeing this thread, i will hold off. If something goes awry, i don't want to be ghosted. Thanks for posting @eatmoreyeah and hope Adam contacts you soon before he loses more potential customers.

I am very sorry for the massive miscommunication on my part. I made a few rash decisions throughout this transaction, and very much regret those decisions. I take full responsibility for the mistakes made and appreciate that you took the time to hear me out this AM over the phone man to man. It was definitely a humbling but clarifying moment for me.

Charles gave me some very honest feedback that I needed to hear, and this has become a valuable learning experience for me. I mean it when I say that I am truly sorry for the mix-up and look forward to helping you stock another tank sometime down the road if you are ever interested.

I have purchased several orders from Adam and in my experience he is amazing to work with. I don't know what is going on this is one specific customer but I wouldn't let this one person's thread cause you to avoid what is in my opinion one of the best vendors for SPS. He has quickly became the only person I order SPS coral through, and I can't speak highly enough of him.

Communication after the refund may have been all he needed. He said he didn’t hear from you in a month.

Also, you may want to confirm the email address you refunded is correct. It says that it’s unverified. If you’re refunding it to his PayPal account, it should have been a verified account.

This is correct. The PayPal ID which was used to issue the refund in October was not mine. I’ve had the same PayPal ID for close to 20 years (also Verified)

Adam showed me a screenshot of the refund with the incorrect PayPal ID via text. I informed him 3 minutes later, that the ID the money was sent to was indeed not mine and provided the correct one. To confirm you can look at the transactional history on Paypal between users to find the email or ID used.

Unfortunately, today I found out that after the erroneous refund that was issued I was blocked. So my text message sent to rectify the problem was never received. So unbeknownst to me, my other attempts to reach out over other forms of medium were apparently never received due to being blocked.

As I stated in my first post you have some really nice pieces. And I’ve always been happy with my purchases that I’ve made over the years. I’ve raved about Battlecorals ad nauseam to both of my local reef clubs.

However, this ordeal has been a real headache to deal with. Like I mentioned to you on the phone, I was very hesitant to even start a thread regarding this and contemplated it for a few days. But it was the only real option I had left to try to get in touch with you.

Furthermore, I truly hope some of the issues and concerns I mentioned are taken into account in the future.

I’d lastly, like to thank everyone again for the help you all provided me in this thread. I’m a part of many hobby communities, but reefers are by far the very best.
