Currently have 120g 60x18x25 tank that's been up and running for 2 months with 3 fish in it. They all went through the quarantine process.

Current fish are:
1 clownfish
1 purple strip dottyback
1 firefish

I want to add 3 more fish to quarantine, but don't know what 3 to get. I'll eventually be getting LPS and CUC (waiting for the tank to establish)

Well, it has a decent swim lane. So a Tang is something I'd consider. One of the smaller variety. You may have some issues with the Dottyback getting its back up with new additions as it doesn't tend to play well with other, more passive tankmates. What kind of clown do you have?

Devils advocate but avoid tangs and go rabbitfish!
My 5’ 180G tank has 3 rabbits (1 of which is the size of a tang) and I couldn’t even imagine throwing a tang in that tank. They’re way too active IMHO. They also restrict you on fish. I have wrasses that I couldn’t have with tangs due to the aggression (tangs are nasty when established).

I do agree on the wrasse recommendations though - what species is depending on what you want;
Colour?
Personality?
Utility?
Unusual appearance?

Here’s my stock list in my 5’ 180G. I have yet to obtain the Laboute’s Pair. But I have everything else. And yes, it’s a reef tank. I have no algae at all whilst when I had tangs in my other tanks they would always leave patches of algae. The Colour coding isn’t really there to do much - it was for another thread.

Thanks for your help! I have a ocellaris clownfish, I had a pair, but two days after moving them to an observation tank one died.

As far as the dottyback, he's still in the observation tank and hasn't made it to my dt yet. I've heard similar info about the dottyback and may just keep it in the observation. I don't know really what to do with it, I just know I don't want him to bully others, I've heard to wait to put the dottyback back in last? I don't know if that's true if putting in last helps the bullying.

Wow, thanks for the help! I appreciate this information. I was really thinking about a blue hippo tang and a bristletooth tang, but now reading your information I will have think about that.

If you have a lid and atleast a 2'' sand bed I'd go for a Blue spotted or yellow head jawfish. Since your tank is longer I think you can get a few of the yellowhead jawfish and let them create their own burrows and see how they interact. Super fun fish to watch!
