Hey everyone!

This is the start of my 500gl reef tank build. I was looking for some different ways on how I could plumb this tank.

I have total of 4 outlets from my tank going into my sump and i only have 2 inlets in the sump. I was thinking of adding a T on my plumbing and reduce 4 pipes to 2 pipes from my tank to my sump. I also have 3 inlets going into my tank from the sump. I am thinking I could add them all together to one pump?

Thoughts and ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you again for your help.

I'd keep it as simple as possible but I would use multiple return pumps for redundancy for when one fails. It's hard to guess how much noise is going to be generated reducing 4 pipes to 2. Using just two pipes initially eliminates the guess work if noise is going to be an issue.

One of my larger tanks had similar and I used a T-fitting as you mentioned and ran ball valves on the lines in case I nneded to stop flow or slow it down.
