I started into the reef keeping hobby during Covid-19 and I actually started in Freshwater but I knew about corals and saltwater few days after I setup my 20g long tank. I added salt to the mix and started from there, I like challenges, so I chose two clownfish, dottyback, and some snails. After a year I decided to have corals and weny with Xenia, Duncan, and I made a stupid decision without having the right parameter to keep a Sps (Bird's nest) after couple of weeks everything was bleached because I did not have the right parameters to keep corals. But from trial and error I have learned this hobby. After almost 3 years everything crashed and everything that was in my tank died due to algae bloom, on top of that my light stopped working, and I was about to graduate from University and I didnt have enough time or didnt manage my time to invest into reef keeping so I stopped completetly. Now I bought a 15g Nuvo Fusion and I really like the AIO system than the HOB that I had in my previous tank. I still have so much to learn and I am learning from articles, getting feedback from fish store, and websites like Reef2Reef. I have issues with Magnesium and Calcium. The dosage and the ml needed to reach my goal. I dont have anyone near me that can actually help me so thanks to the digital era. I use ChatGPT to answer my questions but I still get some negative results haha. I like that in this hobby is very relaxing once you reach one milestone. Because it feels like I dont have to compete with anyone. I go in my own phase and the results are pretty good. The coloration, the movement of the corals, the water movement. This hobby is very unique so when I bring the topic into a conversation with someone they find it very interesting.
