Nice job. What lighting are you using? did you grow those corals yourself?

Thanks Everyone........The tank size is a 54 gallon courner , the lighting is 150 watt MH (Phoinex 14k) and two 65 watt PC Actinic . As far as growth all corals were bought as colonies , but have grown alot over the years , the ric garden was started as single polyps and it just keeps spliting when fed mysis shrimp . The tank is about 14 years old and still in progress and always will be as long as I still find new corals to buy .

Very nice tank. I love the rics! How often do u feed them?
Thanks everyone , I'm getting alot of reefers asking how I feed so I'm going to post what I do here . IMO Rics take a while to settle in , so when you buy them place them in your tank and don't look to feed right away . Give them a few months , when I feed I start with brine shrimp till they get nice and puffy then move on to PE Mysis when there bigger and can handle that size food . First I turn off all flow then place one piece of brine/mysis in the middle of each ric ( close to the mouth ( I use tweezers for this ), if you have fish you have to keep them busy eating or they will steal the food from the rics . This can be very difficult because rics eat very slowly . Once they close in on the food and have a good hold you can turn the flow back on . For me rics have always expanded more if there in moderate flow ( not being blasted ) and if there placed next to each other . It seems to me that when there all clumped together they expand more so as to compete for space . Unlike LPS they don't sting each other ( because they can't ) and kill off for space . IMO the slow to moderate flow and being all clumped together is more important than feeding for growth and expansion . I hope this helps everyone who asked , I'm am no expert by any means , but this has worked for me . Also remember , don't expect results over night. My ric garden is many many years old . As far as forcing them to split by cutting through the mouth , I'll let someone else who does it more explane that whole process . Happy Reefing and I hope this helps everyone .

Cool. Thanks for the info. I am going to put mine closer together and start trying to feed them in a month or so.

That's a good point Azurel , Ricordia does not eat constantly , IMO they don't need it on a constant basis . one piece of PE mysis is good for a month easy. I feed them all and the ones that take it can have it and the ones that don't the fish get ( heathy fish are pigs ) . Now if we can just figure out how to get them to to split every week . lol . Thats why I think it's more important to keep them bunched together and in a spot where there comfortable with the flow and lighting .

have you ever tried fragging them?

know a reefer who has and has had good luck, and have heard people have had good luck with it
No I don't frag them , I have done it but it is a pain , I just wait for them to drop like mushrooms do , then put in container with rubble and let them attach in a couple of weeks .

Your statement about them being clumped together makes perfect sense. When I have purchased single polyps they never, ever do as well as mulitples..Instead of spreading them out in the tank, I'm going to have to just put them all in one spot. The different types won't sting each other will they...say Yuma's and Ric. Thanks...

No , they will be fine together , although I would put the yumas with yumas and rics with rics . Alot of reefers do the spreading out thing , but the ones I know and talk to often , I tell them to setup a garden and clump them all together , they always puff up more and do much better .
