Very cool!

Out of curiosity; is the water change because of the spawning (and if so; why), or is it just a normal scheduled change?

Yes, from cloudy water. I’ve read mixed opinions about it. Others said leave it alone because fish and other corals likes it, and just add carbon (GAC), others said it will deplete the oxygen if its too cloudy.

I don’t want to take the risk, it’s better safe than sorry.

I can't count the number of times I've said this to my wife when talking about my tank... ;-)

Hahaha I know what you mean.

Actually, the water cleared up even before my new saltwater mix warmed up. Good thing the carbon did its job right away. Now I’m contemplating if I should still do WC, or not,. it’s already late and have to wake up early tomorrow. LOL

Cool! Just to be 100% make sure nothing is out of whack and it’s not stress spawning.

I’d run carbon if you have. If it’s a large enough tank and the water isn’t milky plus the spawning stopped for a while you’ll be ok without water changes.

Thanks.

Yeah, I replaced my GAC and added additional bag as soon as I saw what’s going on (I will remove extra bag in the morning). The water didn’t turn milky, just cloudy. And now it’s already clear/normal.

I’m already lazy to do the WC since everything looks fine. Hahaha
