Hello all,

I am starting my first salt water aquarium. So this will be my build thread. I am currently working on a stand so I will share the progress of that as well. I purchased a 62g Tideline AIO from planet aquariums today. I paid 599 for it which from all the AIO’s I have looked at seems to be a steal. It seems to be of good quality. I am open to suggestions on lighting and filtration as I am very new to this. Please feel free to follow along on my journey if your new as well.

Those look really nice. The only thing I see as maybe being an issue is the 3.5“ listed depth of the filtration chambers. It’s going to make getting an appropriately sized skimmer tough if you’re planning on running one.
Looking forward to seeing how you scape it. What’s your stocking plan?

I seem to have found a skimmer that should fit and cover my filtration need. It’s the Eheim skim 350. Says it should be good up to 90g and it has a very small dimensional foot print. I’m still doing a ton of reading and learning. My only set in stone wants are a snowflake eel and down the road once established I do want to do some corals. I am extremely open to any and all advice.

Yes it is. I was looking at IM, JBJ, and Waterbox. I was fairly set on IM since I was able to purchase tank only and the quality from what I read was good. I went to my LFS and stumbled across these tanks. I’m not to worried as I know this is a new line for them but they have been making tanks a long time. I am still learning so all I can say currently is that I would like to do corals down the road I do plan to go with a two lamp setup with brackets that mount to the back of the tank. I have not decided on the lights I will use just yet.

I posted this on the other thread you replied to but I’ll put it here as well. That is a surface skimmer and you need a protein skimmer such as this one.

What other filtration would I require. There are two filter socks in the middle chambers. Should anything be placed in these filter socks? Probably a silly question.

lamp-wise if you got a pair of AI primes or A160s they would give you a lot of leeway down the road on whatever corals you keep. Those could keep LPS at the lower settings or even SPS at higher.

Just finished the frame for the stand.
looks good following along. I have a little more than 2 month old 65G, Happy reefing!
just remember to go slow and when you’re set on something like a light or skimmer, keep looking and you’ll find the perfect one!
I have since added a reactor from BRS

I saw one of these a few minuago at my LFS. Didn’t look too much into it though. Do they come with the return pump? The tank looked really nice. My store was asking $600 also.
