just wanted to share my new hawiian black durgeon i picked up over the weekend he is a very active swimmer at 9", will post more pics tomm and of some of my other fish that are new editions as well:bigsmile:

you know i've wanted one of those, right NR? blast my too-small tank!

he/she looks great! as i know there are several that can be referred to as black durgeons, is this a Melichthys niger (yes, i copied and pasted, cause i can never remember the correct speeling)

9". any idea how old it is? (just curious as to how quickly these grow)

well to my personal knowledge their are two types of durgeons the hawiian and the indian ocean, the indian durgeons are more common to see around i really have no clue how old this one is,i personally never heard of a niger trigger be called a durgeon but don't quote me on that one lol , it is a male, thanks for the kind words:bigsmile:

Very sweet!! Would love to see your other tanks...looking forward to pics!!

I have a 220 in the basement right now. It will be a FOWLR maybe by next summer. Debating on selling it for an 8' tank instead of 6'

sorry their was some confussion on that one, i thought for some reson you were talking about the niger trigger, never liked scentific names especially with cichlids lol
