Ok so I just got the seahorses in and they are temp floating, but honestly I don't know if they are alive at all. I can't see a single one move. Some are floating, some are laying on the bottom lifeless. Only one is attached to what was in the bag for transport, but it might just be stuck.

Is this "frozen" state normal or so I have a bag of doa? Slightly panicking.
I was super excited. Then got sad. I really hope they are ok. I dream to have sea horses one day as well.

Sadly it looks like a couple might be alive still, but a few on the bottom look not good. I'm more worried about what happens when I open this bag in a moment. That water looks rancid.
At that point it is a rough decision to acclimate faster to help with water quality or leave to acclimate.

I go with water quality personally but its up to you. No right answer

Can you draw some water out of the bag with a needle and syringe and quickly test the salinity (before the bag leaks too much)? If it matches your tank, you're probably better off just putting them in.

Where did you order from? Maybe they can tell you if the ponies "play possum" during shipping.

Crossing my fingers for you

I made the decision to get into fresh saltwater immediately. I cut and poured the bag and added a few drops of prime and swished that so any ammonia hopefully will not get to them before I scooped each one out. So far 2 were doa, still have them in fresh saltwater just in case I called it too soon and they perk up, but the color and stiffness makes me think their gone. Plus the bag water smelled so bad.

8 alive plus a bonus booger that was born along the way. Currently still observing on the counter in clean water and I'll be adding them into the tank.

Well. Situation sucks. The planned tank has too much flow, still even when turned all the way down. Blowing ponies everywhere. So. I had a gallon cube in the garage, filled it and added aged rock from 2 tanks. One loaded with pods. Added one gorg I got today and a tiny sponge filter. They look happier. Including lil nugget. Count at 7 larger, one baby. 2 doa, plus one that I thought was alive but all the others were just latching into it. No breathing or fin movement on #8.

However, just got a call that my hubs was in an accident so when he gets home I'll be busy. Have no idea how bad, he was breaking up too bad from no service.

Here's a photo for now. they're so smol.

Oh no! I hope everything is ok. Guess it's good that he's coming home rather than you going to the hospital...

OMG it was freaking FedEx. He was hauling a dump trailer full of gravel, driver hit him in the trailer.

He's sore, back hurts. Trying to convince to go get it checked out. He's stubborn.

Thanks to all! Cops were called, driver had a dash cam, took all fault immediately. Lots of pictures taken, videos, and we have loads of insurance company experience being an auto body shop owner. However, he's a stubborn mule and although I'm telling him to go now, he's like, I'll do an appointment tomorrow. So we'll see. It's was about a 35mph hit to the trailer. Not a lot of obvious damage because it's a solid trailer, but the Fed ex truck was totaled.

And ponies. OMG. Cute. I now have 2 babies.
TWO! Hopefully they make it. I do see pods and swimming bbs still so hopefully they eat.

Here's the babies
