I bought a 300 gallon rubbermaid stock tank to replace my 200 gallon system. I might eventually add a sump at the end, but for now I will just run without a sump since I need to cycle the tank and set up the plumbing. Couldn't find a bulkhead to fit, so I just silicon hell out of it.

Have not seen a stock tank as a main tank, only as a temporary holding tank. Excited to see how it turns out. If it were me, I would figure out a sump. Would be cool to build a stand and put the sump underneath.

I was temped to do this, but the height would be too high. Also the weight, so easier just to use cinder block to left it about 8 inch, and get another smaller stock tank as sump behind it. I already drilled a hole for sump, so still thinking should I reuse my 40breeder which is mod as a sump already, or another larger stock tank.

Update: Bought a 100 gallon stock tank as sump. Need to transfer everything over by end of this Just realize that I might not have enough rock, so guess I'm going to get some bio block and frag rack...........or some very large dry rock.
