My Frogspawn has a White growth on its skeleton

Hi I am in need of some help figuring out what is growing on/happening to my frogspawn... it appears to be some sort of growth on the bottom left of the skeleton where the skeleton meets the frag plug. I have had the frag for around 4 months and it has been thriving in my tank. I do regular water changes and have an ATO that works great.

I need to know what this is and if it is a problem or not (if I need to dip the frag in iodine solution)

any help is much appreciated.

thanks to all who replied. When I woke up this morning the area of concern seemed to be worse... There appeared to be two of the pest/sponge of concern, and the flesh around the area of concern seemed to be deteriorating... after some contemplation I decided to dip the coral... after the dip the two sponges/pests appear to have shrunken. It’s almost if they receded into the corals flesh... very interesting.

Also, when I got this little guy it was one head, but now it appears to be turning into two... it’s magnificent!

If it’s growing it’s probably fine?

I can’t see the details in the photo but the coral extension looked very good. Be careful not to treat the coral so much That it gets sick from too much care.
Perhaps you should remove the frag plug and glue the coral onto the rock work so it can have a stable location to grow further like it would have in nature?

Keep in mind the tissue around the base will recede as teh polyps grow. Changing water/light parameters can also cause tissue to recede. It can also be weeks after a coral is moved for changes to start happening. Unless you matched conditions exactly I'd think it was adjusting to it's new environment and not the "sponges". Anther possibility (your pictures aren't very clear) is you've got 2 baby polyps forming. This often happens around the bottom edge of tissue with Euphillias in addition to polyps splitting. As cautioned above, don't give it too much attention. Be patient. You might try using the zoom on your cell phone camera to get a closer look.

That’s a great point. I was planning on doing that but was nervous it would get too much light... down in the sand it’s getting around 100 par and loves it
