Just wanted to show my first ever reef tank and get some opinions on it as I’m still new to the hobby! Any and all advice is much appreciated!

Hi Welcome! The tank is very pretty!

Looks like the conch is keeping the sand bed pristine!
Got two in there! Besides the fact that they like to walk all over my gonis they are fantastic at cleaning the sand bed. Got them during my diatom bloom and they cleared it up quite fast!

One thought just to make sure you are ready. Anything inside the exclusion zone (red) around this bubble will be dead at some point. I've lost more corals to my bubble than all of my other euphyllia and anemones combined. That small guy can probably put out four to six inch sweepers right now.

What I've done to combat this with mine is control the sweepers with flow. As the blue lines indicate. Flow pulls the dangerous filaments up into the water and not on to other coral.

They are pretty rad coral.

So surprisingly enough I’ve never seen this guys sweepers! I’ve had him for about 2 months now and nothing. Only see tiny ones at night sometimes or just after feeding but mostly under an inch. I had a green bubble coral that recently died and I don’t know why and I was super upset because I loved that coral but he has sweeper tentacles. Although he was small so they weren’t very long but this guy doesn’t show his at all. It’s the weirdest thing!

My guess would be it sent them out and it feels secure being between the rock and the glass.. If it gets encroached on by anything, I'll bet you see them.

This is like my 3rd time changing the scape so it’s been in different areas, and my RBTA used to be right above it lol but still nothing
