I have to reset up my office 65 gal tank this year. It sprung a leak after 7 years or so.
After much deliberation, I settle with a list of fishes as below:
Tomini Tang
Copper Banded Butterfly
Harem of 3 African Flameback dwarf angels
A pair of clown fish, Black snowflakes, breed by a friend of mine
Gigantea Anemone, Magnifica Anemone and likely a Haddoni Anemone
Maybe a clam or two and a few SPS and LPS starts from my home tank.
All the fish have utility roll except my Trio of Flameback and my Clown pair. I consider these 5 fishes are my center pieces. Can one have 5 centerpieces? My clowns are use to showoff the anemone/clownfish symbiotic relationship, while the Flameback are just for my pure enjoyment.
I initially got a Flame back angel last week. The fish have been at the LFS for quite a few weeks, and is really thin with pinched stomach. He does eat when I asked the LFS employee feed him, so he went into a bag and go home with me. I asked the owner to order my 2 more small ones.
Last week, he came and into the tank they went.
Currently I only have the Angels and the Tang. All fore are doign well. The tang is still very shy, but does chase after the angels.
Here are two short video of the tank. The first one was when I just have one, while the 2nd video have all three angels, along with the Tomini tang

My Flameback Angel have been together for the last week. All three and the Tomini Tang are doing great. My smallest and first Flameback is getting healthy. That gal was at the LFS for weeks and all thin and emaciated with the pinched look but is gaining weight fairly quickly. She is eating very aggressively. I feed Otohime pellets with an automatic feeder. The other two have learn from her and all are eating well at this time.
It seem to me, these angels are a little more aggressive than Flame Angels. They seem to quarrel a lot. Always runs at each other, but never actually biting. The smaller one always break off and darts away. So far none have torn tail or missing scales.
They are very beautiful. IMO, more striking and beautiful than Flame Angels.
The local Petco have an other Flameback at the store, very healthy, fat and eating very aggressively. I was really consider buying him also and have 4 angels in my 65 gal, but finally decided not to bring him home. Only 59.99 for him, which is a very reasonable price.
I got a shot video of the three angels this afternoon. You can see the aggressive behavior of these angels. They are extremely beautiful IMO.

It is best not to mix anemones, especially in a relatively small tank.
You do know who you just told that to don't you? Notice the word Anemones under his screen name--that might give you an idea.

Nice trio of Angles OrionN.

Centropyge acanthops, got 1. Been watching him at the LFS for a while. They have had him over a month. He hid for about 30 mins. Already eating. I don't know about 3 though.

Nice. How big is your tank? I always like to keep breeding units if my fish if at all possible. That is the reason I want a harem of Flameback, just as I keep a harem of Flame angels.
Definitely Dwarf Angels can easily keep as harem and spawn in our tanks if the tank size is reasonable. I value the behavior aspect of the fish rather than the number of the species that is why I choose three Flamebacks rather than three different species of Dwarf angels.
We each have our own idea of what we want. There is not a right or wrong for everybody, just a right choice and not as good choice for me, and the same for you.

Very cool. My tanks is 54. I do like the dwarfs. I wonder if a Cherub at a letter date and the Flameback would get along?

They will be fine together. In the ancient days, I am an ancient guy, I had a Coral Beauty and a Cherub in the same tank and they spawned.
Flameback and Cherub are in the same clade, you must take care and not introduce males together. A male Flameback and Male Cherub will most likely fight.

No I do not know. Please educate me. Screen names make it hard yo know who your talking to. My information came from a well known anemone farmer and to a lesser extent my own personal experience.

I had two different BTAs for many years in my 240 and later my 300. They got along fine with multiple clones of each growing to 14”. When I added a third variation of BTA it has clearly outcompited the other two. The older ones have declined in size and numbers, while the new one has been growing and splitting like crazy. I now have 27 or so of the newer BTA and only 2 and 4 of the original BTAs and they are smaller in size now. I have sold at least 30 of the newer BTAs in the last 3 years since in got it. I probably should have kept track, but it is not a business for me. I know I have sold 12 in the last few months alone.

nice looking harem, no issues adding them all? they look like they've been bffs for years

is that nem not very sticky? i got nervous seeing them hanging around it lol
My three Angels are doing well together. They hardly run at each other this AM. All three, especially my smallest one have gain weight and all seem very healthy not. They eat pellets with gusto now.

I have two Gigantea anemones in this tank. These anemones are extremely stickily and will eat these angel if they are dumb enough to get caught by the anemone.

Nice trio of angles. It is best not to mix anemones, especially in a relatively small tank.
Thanks.
Regarding host anemones, IME, most of them seem to not mind come in contact with each other. I keep Magnifica, Gigantea, Haddoni, Malu. I have them in the same system, and many on the same rock toughing each other for years without problem.
These two, a Magnifica and a Gigantea, have been on the same rock for at least 4 years.

I am really happy with my Flameback Angel Trio. They are doing really well, eating well. This will be the last video I upload of this harem unless something really change. I imagine the next time I upload a video of these three will be when they spawn.
Enjoy. I certainly enjoy them. Seem to be really easy and painless for me to get this harem together. Throw three small ones together and they will be just fine.

My harem is really doing well, all 4 fishes, the three angels and the Tomini tang, are really healthy and eating well. They got used to traffic and are out all the time now. I just got to post this video.
I will get a small CBB and a Ocellaris pair. That will be it regarding fish. I am going to get more corals. Mixed LPS and SPS into this tank. I think I will remove one of the two Gigantea.

They are so super gorgeous!!! I love this, you actually inspired me to want to try a pair. Do you think a pair would be okay in a 45 or is that too small to attempt a pair? I have a 25 gallon that I can put one of the angels into if they start fighting

Thanks.
the 65 and 40 gal breeder have same footprint. 36X18. 45gal is about the same. These are small angels. I think they likely going to be OK. Need a lot of crevices and crannies for them to be in. They darts in and out of rocks. Does not swim straight lines like Tangs.

I think 65 gal is slightly small for Flame Angel Harem but likely OK for Cherub or Flameback Harem.
