I will post photos, updates, and progress as the tank evolves. Here is an overview of the tank as it is now.
*May 2020*

Our goal is to have a colorful, lively, symbiotic ecosystem. We have stayed towards more peaceful fish species and they all get along so far.

So we've had our tank since mid-February:
-32.5 Gallon fish only tank
-Fluval canister filter for up to 75 gallon tank
-20ish pounds of live rock

Fish- in order they were added:
  • First
    • Onyx Clown
    • Picasso Clown
    • Flame Angel-Lost to Ich after about 3 weeks :(
  • Second
    • Long Nose Hawkfish
    • Watchman Goby
    • Springer Damsel
  • Third
    • Leopard Puffer(very tiny)
    • Royal Dottyback
  • Clean-up crew- Hermit crabs
We feed Mysis Shrimp twice a day and they all seem to enjoy it and are healthy

Eventually we will turn our 75 gallon Cichlid tank into a saltwater tank with sump, protein skimmer, etc. when we learn more about the hobby.

So I tested the water today and my parameters are as follows:
Nitrites 0
Nitrates 5-10 ppm
Ammonia 0.25 ppm
Ph 7.9

ALSO we did a water change and checked the specific gravity because we were curious and our LFS RODI saltwater is 0.31 which I know is wayyy high. Checked the tanks water and it’s 0.28. When we did the water change we mixed freshwater RODI to dilute the saltwater and the tanks specific gravity is now 0.25.
AND we have a cyano outbreak. Oh the joys!

Upgraded from API Master Test Kit to (by your recommendation) Red Sea Master Test Kit!
Also, adding some livestock today.

Replaced the clown we lost with a Buckshot Ocellaris and also adding a Singapore Angel which was his tankmate!

very nice additions :)
Thank you! I know I am going to get crucified for putting an angel in such a small tank Lol but he is very tiny and we will be getting a larger tank before he gets too big for our current tank!

I don’t have a quarantine tank yet.... but we’ve had him for a month or a little over. (Update on here was late). I added an angel and clown 2 days ago so maybe the angel killed him? I checked my parameters and all is well. Nitrates are a little high at 20 other than that ammonia and nitrites are 0. Ph is 7.9. Salinity is .023. All the other fish seem healthy! Will post a pic of tank right now momentarily
