I’m a newbie still figuring it out. I have one side of my tank (36 gallon) that everything grows but the other side, everything dies. I’m confused.

They’re going to want a lot more information than this. Plus maybe post in another area of the forum to get some good answers and people trying to solve your problem

Either an imbalance of light or flow or both. Light would be likely

Welcome to the R2R community! I would agree with @vetteguy53081 . Check your flow and lighting. Also parameters? I had a lot of learning to do to get the reef I have where it’s at. Patience is one of your best friends. Also how old is the tank? That can make some difference in terms of biodiversity and maturity. Good luck! And keep asking questions. There are many forums to look for answers here.

it could be your flow or lighting. more likely flow. or if you add water or chemicals it might be getting to that side too concentrated.
