I’m setting up a 600 gallon (96x48x30) aquarium. Has anybody used 2 different LED’s on the same tank? I’m looking at using ecotech gen 5 pros and kessil a500x for a little shimmer. That’s just what I’m thinking so far. I’m open to any suggestions. I’d like to see some tank that use different LED’s on the same tank. I also have 4 gen 2 coral cares. I was also thinking of adding 2 more coral cares and running them 3x3 with the a500x’s in the center

I don't have any insight on using multiple LED types. My concern would be about matching spectrum, if that is something important to you. For my tank (120x36x30), which is still being set up, I have settled on 5 ATI Stratons. I did iterated through a lot of different lighting options before those, lol.

Being that your tank is 48" front to back, I would think 8 gen 2 Coral Cares would cover it nicely (4x2).

Oh yeah the best looking tanks in my opinion usually have 2 different lights doing 2 different jobs. You want large panel lights or t5s to minimize shading but if you also want shimmer then you will need small point lights such as kessils.
