Over the last month I've had several deaths. I added 3 pink anthias and a month and a half ago and a week later all three disappeared without a trace. I check under the rocks and around the tank in case they jumped. A week ago my purple tang mysteriously dies. Now today my clown looks like its on deaths door. My params aren't crazy. I have a well oxygenated tank via skimmer and a powerhead aimed at the surface. I don't see any sign of ich.

Could you test for ammonia? Also, please give us some more basic information:
Please provide as much of the following as you are able:
  • Brief description of the issue you are observing and answers to the following questions:
    • How long have you had the fish with the condition?
    • Did you quarantine with medication when you first acquired the fish? (If Yes, which medication?)
  • Current water quality measurements
  • Clear photos of the issue taken using WHITE light and/or a short video of any behaviors (post in your response or on YouTube).
If you can help us by providing as much of the above info as possible, it will make diagnosing and providing recommendations for treatment MUCH easier! The Fish Medic team will get back to you as quickly as possible. In the meantime, other members of our community may also share their experience with similar situations and advice that they may have regarding your situation.

You may also feel free to provide a more detailed description of the condition if you wish to share more info than the above list.
(This is from one of the fish medics #fishmedic)

Just tested ammonia and it's 0 ppm
None of the fish were quarentined but I've had the two that died over a year.
None of the fish have any sign of ich or any other common fish disease.
The tank started having trouble swimming and looked a bit pale then died an hour later. The clownfish also just started swimming poorly. No sign of aggression from other fish or disease
I haven't used any medications any time recently. I did accidently stir the sanded up a bit while cleaning the other day but that was after the tang died. If there is any angle I haven't considered let me know I'm very confused as to what's happening. I'll try to get a Pic of the clownish and post it

When the fish and inverts are dying or dead, it points to water and disease. Salinity is down a little but acceptable for fish. How are you testing the water values?
Any sign of heavy breathing, sudden darting gasping at surface, hiding?
Were any fish found with mouths open when discovered?

I tested using api for nitrate ammonia and ph. Refractometer for salt. I test the calibration once every couple months. None of those signs apply to this. They acted normal in the time preceeding there deaths. No fish with their mouths open. The tank is well oxygenated from skimmer and powerheads

This is a shot in the dark, but if you do water changes, where do you source your water?

I run my cities water through a rodi and test tds. I mix it with red sea reef salt. It's been longer than usual since my last water change but I test frequenly and run carbon for untestable chemistry problems

I would assume the answer is no, but is your fish eating?
It was eating just fine until tonight when it dropped dead

Can you post a clear video of the sick clownfish?

Update. Just woke up and a furefish is also dead. I'm going to try a 100% water change and will run carbon. I can't figure out what is happening

Clean up crew got to this, nothing left to see . If the clown is still alive, please post a video. Hosting on YouTube works well.

I mentioned in an earlier comment the clown died shortly after making this thread. I posted a pick of my clean up crew eating it. Just did a 1/3 water change and changed carbon. Going to be doing an equally big water change the next two days
