Happy Saturday, my wife and I are moving from the Sarasota area to the Stuart area(Florida). I know and have read the posts out there for tank moves. I will not be selling everything and starting a new tank.

The tank is a 250 gallon peninsula acrylic system made by Luna reef. Being that move out is in less than a month should I wait until that last weekend to break down system? Or move live stock into smaller tanks now, rocks into one of those rubber made troughs? Really not looking forward to this.

Also any recommendations on fish stores in the Stuart/port saint lucie/jensen beach area? I did stop into fintastic aquariums in Jensen and super nice people!

How much do you have to catch? I will tell you it will probably take all day to catch fish, carefully move corals, and remove all the rock from that tank.

I would also make as much water as you can and have it ready at the new location.

Welcome! I live in stuart and as far as reefing supplies and livestock go fintastic is really the only place. Don't waste your time going to aquatic and exotic, it's mostly reptiles and their saltwater section is super depressing. The #1 best place around to go for corals is p o o t a n g reefs in psl. They're on ig and you'll have to setup an appointment to meet up at the guys house but the deals are insane and the owners are incredibly nice. In north palm there's a place called aquarium shop off Bomar st. The owner Andy is one of coolest guys around. His shop isn't very big but they have supplies, fish and coral and many years of knowledge. Andys helped me with moving my reef several times now. If you travel down to lake worth there's blue earth coral farm. This place is legit with lots of great corals and all the best high end equipment you could need but it's also a little pricey and they do seem to circulate employees pretty often. Don't expect to see the same people working there twice. There's another reef store in psl I forget the name but the hours are weird and they're never open when I stop by. In short #1 p o o t a n g #2 fintastic #3 aquarium shop(only #3 because it's a far drive fpr me otherwise #2)
Sorry had to spell it like p o o t a n g because I can't post the word p o o for some reason.

Awesome! Thank you so much for the info. We got moved in to the new house and only lost a bangai cardinal still sad because I’ve had him a while. Rest of the fish are in QT doing good and tank is set up and running, well was until bulk head fitting decided it had enough (might have got hit or something in the move) and started leaking. Need to find a 3/4” bulkhead tomorrow to get it back up and going.

I have stopped into fintastic before we moved over and they were awesome.
