I know it’s uncommon for eels to be affected by ich and velvet. But what about brookynella? I had a grouper who recently died from brook so removed all the fish except for a few eels. Now it looks like my jewel moray is having similar symptoms. Loss of appetite ( normally he’s a complete monster when it comes to eating) and has what looks like a excess slime coat. Is it possible for eels to contract brook or could it be something else?

Eels can get velvet, but don’t get ich. IDK if they can get brooklynella or not.
Are you positive on the disease ID on the grouper?
I don’t suppose you could do a skin scrape and look at it under a microscope?

This was the the grouper that passed, the eel doesn’t look as bad but I can definitely see some excess slime / mucus. And the jeweled morays appetite is Gone, after I removed the other fish I added paraguard to the tank. The only other thing in the tank besides some hermits are a snow flake and banded moray and they look fine for now
