MONTIPORA SPONGODES !!! What a resilient coral.

The neon green skin and fuzzy brown polyps distinguish this coral from all others.

So I had purchased a small frag a few months ago. And mounted it onto a piece of live rock and set the rock on the sandbed. Which is still where it is. Most of the frag just didn’t succeed growing. Then about 4 to 6 weeks ago it began to encrust on this “fist” size piece of live rock. Branches began to form and now as you can see half the rock is covered. Amazing!!! Monti’s really don’t disappoint. Hmmm? Where to place?

1. Any long range mounting suggestions?

So to answer your question, I saw some photos of a nice size colony and it was living nicely in and around other montis, which I have as well. The look was really quite nice! That being said, I’m not against keeping it right where it is. Thanks for your input.
