I just cleaned and changed my di resin in my brs 6 stage rodi. When I opened the di chamber it had mild spores on the top and had a slimy feeling. Will this effect anything?
Could this be the cause of having silicates in my water?

@Buckeye Hydro is this normal or not? If so what could be doing this and how would it be solved?

Thanks, Alex

I don't know how normal it is...but I usually disinfect all the canisters in my RO/DI setup each time I change the filters. I use a mild bleach/water solution to clean the hard plastic canisters, but not the softer plastic DI cartridge. Just rinse them out real good before you start up again.

Annual sanitizing should be done on a RO or RODI system

Hi guys - just so you know... When you "tag" us... we don't get any sort of indication... so we're not ignoring you... we just aren't aware of the call out.

Remember that everything downstream of the carbon cartridge cartridge and housing is essentially without a disinfectant and is prone to microbial growth. Periodic disinfection is good practice. Check out our instructions page for guidance as to how you do that.
