I’m going to work on building a smallish mixing station; but reading the forums I want to make sure I’m building for the future too.

I want to ensure:
* my apex dos is able to do ATO and water changes (which I think is all through 1/4 ro tubing
* I’m able to use my gravel vac
* I’m setup somewhat for a bigger tank in the future 100g+

my plan was to put in a washer machine outlet box/stand pipe as the drain.

but now I’m thinking since most of what goes to the tank is ro tubing maybe I don’t need this? At least not the water valve ?

I think I still need a drain so that the gravel vac has somewhere yo drain to but what “sucks” makes water flow for that?

thoughts?

Apex makes an ATK with PMUP pump for ATO (so I'd look at that over the DOS for this). I believe it's 1/4" tubing that's supplied, yes.

A single DOS needs to be dedicated for auto water changes, and I believe the tubing is roughly the same size (just different).

If you go with a Python system all the tubing has standard 1/2" plumbing connections, so yes - that would work.
