Hello, I'm in the mindoro, Wisconsin area. I'm new to the thread, looking for other hobbyists in the area. I have a 90 gallon reef tank (70 display and 20 sump). It's about 6 years old at this point. I have some corals, 4 fish, and snails/ccu. I really want a bubble tip anemone but Ive wasted a ton of money buying them over the years, and I don't think a single one was healthy. If someone who knows what to look for could sell/gift/trade me one, or would know somewhere to get a healthy one, or would meet me and help me find a healthy one, I would be forever grateful. I'm hoping it will help curb the aggression from my female golden maroon clownfish, but mostly I've just been wanting one. Feel free to reach out!

buying them because I admittedly didn't know what I was doing when I first got into the hobby. My only lfs was after a quick buck and assured me I didn't even need special lights for coral or nems. I didn't buy a new one until about a month ago to make sure I had a good few years o

Welcome 2R2R!
You have a 6 year old tank, BTA should do very well in that. Very resilient in good conditions.

Is it possible your clown beats the crap out of them?
Sorry about the first reply I pressed a button and got all confused

I had some bad advice from Petco when I first got in the hobby (corals and nems don't need special lights, everything we have is happy and healthy, plastic decorations are fine) all the new hobbyist issues before you realize they just were trying to sell you things. So, after research and learning, I of course straightened all that out probably 5 years ago. That's when I quit buying nems. I wanted to wait a couple years to make sure I was doing things right, get coralline and corals growing. I've had no issues since then, other than my clown killing a couple fish I've tried to introduce.

I attempted another bta about a month ago (first in 5 years). I went to the twin cities to buy it from a maybe more reputable lfs. By the time I got home, it looked like it expelled the zooanthellae and looked bleached. Didn't really look like that in the store but chalked it up to maybe the difference in lighting. It lived and seemed to be ok, just white, for 2-3 weeks. Never moved from where I put it, foot attached firmly, just still looking white with green tips. Then I woke up and it was rolling around the bottom with a big chunk on the side of the body all missing and tore up.

My clowns never gave it the time of day. I'm not sure it was actually healthy cause IDK that I've ever seen a healthy one in person, I've only seen them at fish stores and like I said, there's only 1 in the area. I think I need coaching.

Tank mates are a lightning golden maroon clown (small male), regular golden maroon (large female), fox face rabbitfish, blue tang, turbo snails, nassarius snails, red leg hermits, and pods and corals. It wasn't anywhere near any corals.

I will say, my foxface ate my zoas for some reason. But I haven't lost anything in a few years that I wasn't positive how it died. Mostly my clown bullying newcomers to death. I don't think I'm doing anymore fish till she's gone.
