Yes! Welcome to my build thread!I hear progress.
No I’m not as I am not heading towards low numbers and definitely not zero. I want to get back to where it was before the big spike. Are you concerned about dinos when it drops?
I think it so. For days it was a cloud of 18 months of untouched sand bed. Maybe 1 3/4” deep average. I wanted a mature sand bed before I got one. Maybe I waited to long!Do you think the goby was the catalyst?
You beat me to the question. My sand is shallow as well. I've always had a goby though. I've also had zombie snails too.I think it so. For days it was a cloud of 18 months of untouched sand bed. Maybe 1 3/4” deep average. I wanted a mature sand bed before I got one. Maybe I waited to long!
I think they are absolutely worth it. Perhaps a better maintenance schedule on my part as far as sand bed cleaning would have prevented the spike. The microfauna would have survived that. But when I see how well it cleaned up my sand and more importantly how cool the fish is, totally worth it.You and @najer have giving me food for thought with gobies for sure.
Don't make me send you an orange plate! You people with your sand. Pffft.
Uh, how can I make you send me an orange plate coral? LOLDon't make me send you an orange plate!
A good idea for sure! But you must research the gobies. The diamond spot relies more on microfauna than regular food and will slowly starve without a mature sand bed. Others like the Bella or sleeper banded will clean but mostly eat prepared food and can be introduced early.Maybe our tank introduction should be thought of from the sandbed up?
Same with meYou and @najer have given me food for thought with gobies for sure.
I tried to think about mine sand bed up. Only thing I didn’t do was clean my sand bed for 6 months and when I did it caused a little mess for a short time.Maybe our tank introduction should be thought of from the sandbed up?
We will have this kicked soon!Nice to see the skimmer working hard, this is 48 hours, just emptied, 600 ml and yes it is bright green hence the yellow water!
We got this!
