THis one is a lot of fun guys, I have been going for the last 3 years or so. Nice way to put faces to names, AND get some science for the "hobby" as well.

We've expanded the event this year to include a large swap/vendor area as well! Should be a great conference this year.

I was at one of these along time ago. Really fun. Great buffett lunch... Speakers were Eric Borneman, Larry Jackson, Anthony Calfo and it was Anthony's first time speaking in public. Took a run over to tropicorium after... They really do a good job with this conference...

Wow! That's been a few years ago! The last time Larry spoke for us I think was 2002.

Yea it was a while ago... Larry was so impressive we brought him in as a speaker for our local reef club. I know he is not as known in the hobby now a days as he was back in the day. He mostly does dive photography now. His dive pictures are spectacular and anyone in the reef hobby should see them. I have known Larry from way back when he was a fishnet mod on compuserve. Extreemly nice guy.

If you can make it this year you should come. Nice line up of speakers, cheap tickets, a Friday evening reception, and a huge vendor/exhibit area.

It's quite a bit different than you probably remember....In a good way of course

Bring one of the corals in your avatar and put me on the list for it!

That's a sweet Milli!

Once you've decided send me some pictures and I'll post them in some of the Promotional threads about the event.
It'll help to excite the masses!

Hey Chad,
Believe it or not that Milli is what is considered to be a rose milli. When they come in from they wild they are that pink. Then after a month or so under artifical light they turn rose.
But, I do have a nice pink milli right now and will be bring some with me.

What kind of coral is popular or wanted in Michigan? It seems like different areas bring different demands. I am just trying to get an idea of what to bring.
I will be hauling a lot of coral and would like to make the drive home with little to no coral, thats the goal.
I have tons of acans if the demand is high in the area..... I plan to cut $40.00 pieces when it comes to acans. Is this a good idea, I am new to the frag swaps.

Well put me down for one if it's even remotely close to that picture.

We have tastes that run the gamit! SPS, Acans, Zoas, you name it. For swaps you'll do best with bright colors ( nice blue lights ) and cheap frags! If you can do frags under $20 and Colonies $40 and under you'll do well.

Thats great advice! I plan to bring nice colors. I dont have a ton of zoas but will try to get some. I have plenty of SPS and LPS. As far as acans, would I be better off cutting 20.00 pieces, lets say 2-3 polyp frags?
Thanks again!

I'd say you'd be better off going that way.
