Hey Y'all,
I am technologically challenged so if someone can help me out with my lighting issues I would be very grateful. I have a Viper clamp-on MH light on my 24 gallon cube that has always been fine. My bulb seemed to blow out the other day so I went today and bought another one, popped it in and expected everything to be fine. Of course not. When I turned everything on all I got was a weak blue glow from the center of the bulb, it never warmed up and never got brighter. I left it on for about an hour and no change. I turned it off, unplugged everything, let it all cool down and tried again with the same results. Thought the problem might be with the fuse (again, not mechanically inclined) so tried to unscrew the fuse and it now looks like something snapped off the fuse cap and is left inside the ballast. Sigh...
So, any ideas? Do I need a new ballast? Can this one be fixed? If so, can anyone help me?
Thanks everyone!
Olivia
