About a week and a half ago I saw one of my Mexican Turbo Snails was on their back. I flipped it over figuring it may have needed some help and then the clean up crew moved in almost immediately. I figured it was dead, but I could still see the pink innards, but they were recessed. The CuC moved away, so I left it alone.
It didn’t move for a few days, so I picked it up and could still see the pink flesh, still recessed. Couple of days later, I move it again and there’s stuff on the gravel under the snail.
Over the last couple of days, the snail still hasn’t moved - but now there’s several babies. See pics attached.
What I’m trying to determine is if these are baby turbos and if the snail isn’t dead, just reproducing. Or, if these are other babies and the Turbo is dead since it hasn’t moved in over a week. It’s in a protected area in the back middle of the tank next to the overflow box (RSReefer 350) behind some rock.
Would love to hear your thoughts and insight.
