This is why Melafix will always be, HANDS DOWN, the best dip in the world! The camera can’t zoom on certain ones that close but I counted over 28 hitchhikers! I highly recommend Melafix! Excellent on corals; soft or hard!

Hmmm… the video isn’t playing for me.

But kudos to you for dipping your corals and finding success. It feels like a bit of a hassle but it can save a lot of heartache. I’ve been dipping in potassium chloride myself and finding good success.

Happy reefing!

2.5mL of the marine Melafix. I use about a cup of tank water. I use more water if the coral is bigger and I’ll add just a touch of Melafix if I use more than a cup. I kind of eye ball it. It’s not harmful to the corals. It is actually great for them! You’ll be surprised what hitchhikers come out!! Depending how much comes out of the coral, I’ll leave it for 10/15 mins; sometimes even 30/40 minutes. You don’t need to rinse it but I rinse it with tank water. I shake it around in the tank water to see if anything comes out. Then I put it in the main tank.
Can you go over what amounts your using?
Which one specifically?
How much time?

For Acropora I find this dip to be very harsh on the coral. I have tried it multiple times and it leaves some of the corals, discolored. Some with white tips, others with zero polyp ext. I will not use it again. My mix was 5 min max, 10ml per gallon of tank water.
