Ok there is always confusion on what is the max size of a nano.
So I figure we can get everyone to list what they think and then we can take a vote.
Now first thing do we include the sump as part of the system or just the display tank?
What I mean by that is if you 20 gallon with a 20 gallon sump, is it still a 20 gallon or a 40 gallon?

So what does everyone think is the MAX size for a nano?

Here are my 2cents:

Nano classification is only relevant to the display part of the tank because that is where you are limited in terms of coral/fish space.

30g and under is the max for a "Nano" classification

This exactly what my Fiance said when I asked her. I know I should listen to her more. Now if we make it 30 gallons that would excluded the Red Sea Max 34 gallon.

I have heard under 37g

I know you can order a 37 gallon from AGA but I have never seen one.

Having the biggest nano is like being the tallest little person... The smaller the better:D

I'd say under 40 gallons is nano. Once you get to 40 its actually a decent sized tank of course it is and will always be subjective.

They are ALL nano in my opinion... no tank is bigger than a billionth of the ocean ;)
jk man I would say it depends on the display "I" would consider any tank less than 1.5x2x2 a "nano"
