Hello experts,

Ive been thinking about fragging and propagating, increasing the growth of a colony.
When it comes to SPS to me looks fairly simple, its a waiting game cutting colony wont make it grow faster or will it?

Im specifically thinking about LPS and encrusting corals, if you have lets say a pie colony of acans
or a chalice will cutting a whole colony in 2, 4 or any number of pieces increase speed of growth
or in other words give a colony more linear surface to grow.

No point cutting the colony, it will grow at the same speed?

Thanks

This is true when u frag sps and lps corals they think a storm hit so they put all their energy into repairing and growing more then if u left it alone. So it does help to frag if done correctly.

You'd be better imo to increase flow and alkalinity and look into keeping alk stable while insuring your not inhibiting photosynthesis with too much light.

Unless of course you wanna share some frags. ;)
