Thinking about getting one of these from my LFS to drill, however, there is a “tempered glass” sticker on the bottom. I know sometimes companies use tempered glass on the bottom but not the sides, and I have experienced this firsthand when disassembling an old tank, but I’m not sure on this exact one and won’t get it if I can’t drill it. Anyone now? Any “real“ test other than polarized sunglasses!

Do a google search. You'll need a pair of polarized sunglasses and a phone or tablet. Put the glass on and find the whitest or light color screen you can find on your phone/tablet. Put the phone in the tank and start to turn the phone. There will be a place where the screen goes black. If it's solid black, it's not tempered. If it looks blotchy, it's tempered.
