So after seeing the reefbuilders article, I was excited to get some maricultured rock to add more biodiversity to my 6 months old tank. Ordered the 5lb seed kit and got it this morning. I am not sure the rock has actual coralline or just fluorescent paint. Has anyone else ordered this rock?

Just received my 5lb order today. It arrived a day late due to UPS weather delay....

Looks legit. How does it look under white light?

It's all a RIP in this hobby honestly. It's all about what you decide is worth it.

That's with overnight shipping included. Not bad for 2024 prices.
I'm just wondering why bother overnighting it. Stick it in a USPS priority box. It's bacteria - it will be fine 2-3 days in shipping. IMO that is a terrible price for some rubble. You might as well just buy some frags from a local person and get some corals with your bacteria. To each their own though.

agreed for this kind of rock
even when i’ve gotten aussie liverock (shipping was like 2 days) it was just covered in damp paper i still had sponges, a few corals, and other little things come off all alive and no real foul death smell

When I ordered live rock before it was overnighted and it arrived with with live pods and a crab. That was my hope with this rock. It's not rubble, it came as 4 pieces wrapped in wet paper. Not sure if anything is living on it besides a few sponges and bacteria.

I will say that the rock smells super fresh. No death smell at all.

Did you consider ordering live sand or rubble from Aquabiomics? I think that their sand/rock is a much better way to seed a tank if the bacteria is what you are after. It is also less than half the price of the live rock from Marco rock.

I looked at Aquabiomics a while ago but like a lot of sellers they were Out of Stock. Marco actually had live rock in stock so I ordered some.

Thank you for sharing pictures. I pulled one of the rocks out and took a picture out in sunlight and it looks very similar to yours.

There is a big difference between this and wild australian live rock. Mainly that this mined and maricultured option doesnt involve destroying a reef.

rock like this can easily do 2-3 day shipping
the aussie cultured rock i got should’ve been submerged and overnight IMO considering all the stuff that’s on and in it but it took a couple days and i still managed to get some good stuff on it
