Hello all,

I am planning on possibly looking into getting a mangrove for a Desktop mantis shimp tank for a smithii or wennerae.

Any tips on Mangroves Lighting and other requirements? I have never had a mangrove before

Good with a mantis?

Or do you think the small bioload of a mantis would zero nutrients due to mangrove and cause dinos?

Not at all an expert, but I've had my black mangrove for more than 2 years now. Its currently in my seahorse tank with only a large green sinularia. Both are thriving like crazy and growing, which surprises me because that tank is extremely clean, with oversized skimmer and filter and I do 2-3 water changes per week and very careful with my feeding. So I think you would be fine.

My current light is nicrew 100watts. For the first year and half I grew it under an indoor plant light. It seems to be pretty hardy and adaptable. Good luck.

Do you think it would have to like fuge light or would something like an AI prime be more than enough

Be sure to mist the mangrove with RODI water to help remove salt from leaves. (daily or every other day)

I have a red mangrove in this 5 gallon tank that I just set up. I got a full spectrum grow bulb off of amazon as well as a reptile heat lamp fixture to use with the bulb. So far the mangrove is loving it.
