I bought a mandarin yesterday, and have been looking at pictures and posts and am worried she is too skinny. I knew she looked a little skinny, but was reading people say they reach a point of no return and it is too late. I have a good pod population, and added more yesterday , was also thinking of starting a copepod culture to feed that tank with. I guess my question is does she look past hope? What can I do to help it regardless to fatten her up quickly?

Belly looks a little sunken for sure. As you said, your best bet is to get a load of pods in there ASAP. Try your LFS to get them sooner or later, and @Reef By Steele is an excellent source if you want to order online

You say you have a good pod population so I would watch to see if she is pecking at the sand or rocks. If so she is eating. If not, you can try prepared foods to see if she happens to be converted. If she is eating pods, then it is just a wait and see if she was to malnourished to survive.

Times and apocyclops are your best chance at establishing colonies. Tigriopus would be good for quicker fattening up as they hop around and are easily hunted.

I have observed her picking at both the rocks and sand. So hopefully that’s a good sign.

I was looking at your website, thinking of placing an order. I was thinking of going with some Tisbes.
