I heard a loud grinding noise coming from the living room, and in my head I was thinking a pump just bit the dust. I have a maxijet on the skimmer and another one on a reactor, so I figured it was my older pump giving up the ghost. I could hear it two rooms away, so I rushed in to check on it. It turns out to be a very brave snail that took on my MP10. It took him a bit to decide not to keep pushing his way into the propeller. He may need an Advil now. He decided to stand down and now all is quiet.

I'm convinced the only things snail are good at is losing their homes to hermit crabs. Seems every time I add a snail, I end up with a very happy crab. And it's not like they don't have empty shells to choose from. Greedy. :crossedlips:

I cut back on hermits to keep snails. I would rather have an assortment of snails than hermits. Right now I have a few scarlet reef hermits that are way less aggressive than others. So far so good (knock on wood).

My lawnmower blenny uses a vortech for sleeping. It lays on the sides where the vortech intake slots are and it stays there all night.
