Making mods to my stand to sump swap

This is my current stand I was thinking of either A) Getting rid of the middle brace and replace the doors but i dont know if that will impact the stability of the stand or B, cut out the side of the stand and take the sump out that way.

I'd strongly advise going through the side as it's a considerably shorter span and much easier to reinforce when you're done.
