Hey everyone! As the post says, I’m looking for a couple unique fish to finish off my stock list for my 180 gallon Planet Aquarium. Total volume is around 235 gallons.

I understand some people may think I already have “alot” but honestly…my NSA rockwork, oversized skimmer, filtration, UV, etc has allowed me to keep my tank is great shape and I know I still can squeeze a few more “small” fish in LOL.

Current stock list…

Tangs: hippo, mustard, white tail kole, chocolate, naso
Other: swallowtail angel, foxface, starry blenny,
Anthias: sunburst, borbonius
Clowns: two frostbite clowns
Inverts: tons of snails, 4 crown tops, 3 halloween crabs, 3 scarlet crabs, 1 cleaner shrimp, 4 peppermint shrimp

What are the dims on the tank? Or is it a standard 180?

Definitely considering a yellow candy hogfish if I can track one down.

I’m not sure about more tangs…lol all 5 of mine get along so well I’m afraid to push my luck. I would MAYBE consider a purple since that’s the only genus I don’t have.

Bellus Angel is a fantastic idea. I forgot about those!

Just lost my mystery wrasse back in January, had him for almost 3 years and he jumped through a 1/2” space in my screen top. My most upsetting loss.

i cant think

In a 180 you’re open to almost everything, what’s the price limit you’d go for?

Lol...I just bought a borbonius anthias on Saturday. Not gloating, but this is the only thing I spend my money on other than my dogs :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Of course, none of the fish listed will be unique. For that you’d have to go with an aberrant koi tang. If you really meant unusual, then be prepared to spend significant $$$. I had a zebra tang for a while, and years before that a tigerpyge dwarf angel. Haven’t seen either for years.

I am just slightly worried about a black tang w/ my mustard tang...hmmm

I had a pair of bluejaws awhile back...miss them dearly. Not sure if I would do a pair again to be completely honest.
Are you adverse to the species or just the idea of a pair? i ask as they are on a potential future list for me and i was kicking around the idea of a pair.

I think goatfish are very interesting, can't find that much great info on their care though. I have not seen any record of a bi-color goatfish above 8 inches, so you should be safe to add it to your 180.

Searching old threads it seems a few members have kept bi-color goatfish for years without issue although many websites list them as difficult so take that as you will.

Not a Unique fish then like a Peppermint angel, but a very nice one or two fish. An unusual pair of Genicanthus angels like Japanese, Black spot, or Watanabei angel would be nice. If you want fancy, more expensive then Genicanthus personatus pair.
A pair of tank raise misbared, or one misbared and one normal Regal would be beautiful. I keep pairs of Regals and pair of Watanabei before. I would prefer Regals in my tank.
