Hi guys, got a 16g AIO with 11G display. I want to takje out the internal sump walls and make holes in order to install a sump underneat.

The sump will be a small 5G tank that i've got lying around.

Chambers:
1 = filter sock and skimmer
2= refugium and rubble
3 = dont know the name but many sump have it and i guess it's just so that the refugium does not empty with evaporation
4 = return chamber

Could you advice me if you see any problem in the sump project, especially wall placement/height and holes

If I’m seeing it right your bubble trap (3) will set the water level at almost filling the entire sump in all chambers. As you go from one chamber to the next the height of the baffles (or the slots where the water flows) is usually decreased.

i see what you mean, thanks for the input, is that better?

Also, when return pump chamber get lower than the bubble trap chamber baffles, the water tumbling will make noise?

In my awfully scribbled on picture the baffle with the black arrow pointing to it will set your water level for chambers 1 and 2, then chamber 4 will fluctuate with pump speed and the amount of water in your system (evaporation). If you want chamber 1 and 2 to be that full then it will work.

Just don’t forget that when your power goes out extra water from the display will drain into the sump and you have to have enough available room in the sump to hold that water

mmm...i would like to be even more filled i think, in order not to lose too much space for the refugium. I think in case of power outage the water level in sump will be controlled primarily from the outflow height. So i must be very carefull when i cut the overflow pipe lenght (i will drill from the bottom) in so that the extra water would not fill the sump . or at least i hope so.

Nice 3D printing. Looks good and I see you accounted for skimmer height
