These are the before and after pictures. These zoas were most common and spread out in my tank being in many places and now they are almost completely gone from all areas.
My sps, lps, and softies are all doing fine with the exception of these particular zoas and my rasta colony.

Any ideas?

No advice but following as I'm sort of in a similar spot:
4-5 different types of zoas growing well for close to a year are now on a 3-month long, downward spiral. (Started with HOB setup change that I think messed up my flow, in my case, but now kind of at a loss)

Any changes in nutrient levels or particulates feeding? I have lots of zoas regressing like that but I stopped feeding so much due to algae problems.
I am feeding more heavily than normal, since adding a few large tangs and an XL trigger.
I also recently started chopping up fresh oyster and feeding the tank that.

Not sure if the Asterina in my tank are the zoa eating kind or not but i have not seen them near the zoas.
I dont allow ANY asterinas in my tanks- I had two take down an entire colony of Bam Bam zoas a few years ago.

No invert additions in the last 6 months except a few sexy shrimp that stay on my carpet anemones.
sexy shrimp finished off 2 of my zoa colony's over the course of a year, I've often watched them munch away. Do a google search on it

Even if they do, they are on the complete opposite side of the 300 gallon tank and the triggerfish and eels have already picked off a few that strayed to far from their carpets. There are only 2 left and they dont come off the carpets.

I had the same thing happen to mine and I have not tried them since. The first phot was not long after I got them. The second one was before they started to die off. I had not added anything else in a while except for a plug with some green Zoas which had disappeared not long after I got the first plug. You can see the green plug in the background on the second photo. It has been a few years so I might try them again. All the LPS coral I have have been doing good.

100% guarantee your rabbit fish are eating them. Doesn't matter how much you feed. Once they develop a taste, they will keep eating them. Happened to me twice with two different foxface.

What is interesting about this is that only the green Zoas seem to be effected. Although I am also seeing a color change in the orange Zoas.

How long have u had the sexy shrimp? They can nip softies if starving. Had a nano with nothing but them and a clownfish and 3 frags all died mysteriously. Never confirmed it for sure but there’s a possibility it was them
