I am looking to upgrade lighting on IM40 AIO. Currently running a kessil 180 that came with it and works fine, but wanting to get into more acros. the footprint of the display is about 24x15. I have narrowed it down to hydra 32 or xr15 blue based on budget and programming similar to what I already run.

Does a single xr15 have enough power to support acros across the top 1/3 of the tank, or would I need to keep them towards the center. I think the hydra might offer more power but would like a more even spread and avoid hotspots as much as possible. I run a prime 16hd on another tank and the kessil on this one, which is why I lean toward the xr15 to avoid the shadowing that i've always had.

also curious if people running xr15 typically use the diffuser or are ok without it. Any pics appreciated.

Anyone running a single hydra32 on this size tank have an input on degree of shadowing? again pics appreciated.

I have 2 Hydra 32s. They work great!

One Hydra 32 will be more than you need, which is nice, as you can add others if you every upgrade to a larger tank.

that's why i'm torn. I love my prime, it's just not that much more expensive to do a radion than the hydra 32. probably hard to answer, but how is the shadowing for a 2 ft area under a single hydra? kind of the only reason I'm even thinking of a radion, just to try a panel instead.
