Some of the posts with pictures that Coralnutz has made recently reminded me that there is more to life than our reef tanks.

Here it is mid June and I have been so busy with the reef and work that I’ve barely had time to enjoy the beauty of my own backyard. I have a feeling that I am not the only one that has fallen into that trap.

How about everyone take a picture of something pretty in their yard and post it in this thread? That way not only will we be forced to get into our own yard, but we’ll be able to enjoy some of the things that may not be indigenous to our part of the country.

I’ll start off with I snap I took this evening when I returned home from a job. These flowers grow out of the plants I have lining the walkway from the front of my house to the backyard.

My bedroom is bigger than my backyard, and we haven't mowed the yard since last fall. I for one would really like seeing a few more backyard shots, especially if you have a koi pond, or just a waterfall. A few birds at a bird bath would be nice too!

Ok.... now I feel bad about my backyard.

Those are all great pics guys. I am learning to take better pictures. I really like doing it, just don't always do it that well. As soon as I resize more pictures I will put them up. I have lots of backyard and front yard!!

You can see the bottom of the rainbow. I have never seen the bottom before. Also, no gold!

This is really great folks. It's nice to see the diversity. Not sure I could sleep with a lion that size in my backyard though!

Some days I like my back yard...other days... like today... when I go to mow the lawn...and have to scream for my neighbor to come kill the copperhead that coiled up when I almost ran over it.... I'm not so crazy about it... sometimes I feel too close to nature!
